ANTALYA – Ramin Matin’s The Impeccables and Ferit Karahan’s The Fall From Heaven shared top honors at Turkey's Golden Orange Film Festival at Antalya, which just wrapped up its 50th edition.
Impeccables, the story of two sisters confronting the secrets of their past in a beach-resort, also got a statuette for best director, while Fall from Heaven, which follows a Turkish and a Kurdish woman’s reaction to the same tragedy, picked up a special jury award.

The other big winner of the evening was Atalay Tasdiken’s Meryem, about a teenage bride coping with loneliness in a small village, taking home statuettes for its leading lady Zeynep Camci, composer Youki Yamamoto and director of photography Feza Caldiran.
The decisions, made by a jury presided over by legendary Turkish actress Turkay Soray, included cash prizes totaling $320,000 spread out among six of the ten winners.
The award for the best international feature film went to Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit’s 36 from Thailand, which employs 36 camera-setups to tell its story.
