I have a Digium card with 3FXO. I have 2 IAX2 trunks (to joint another pbx and voip.ms) and 3 ZAP trunks. I created the iax2 extension for the fax and linked to fax section. the virtualfax vcsfax 1000 Vcsvoip40 email@email.com fax1 XXXXXXXXX Running and idle on ttyIAX1 I created the iax2 extension and on my incoming PSTN lines I put fax dahdi and extension 1000 I send a fax and the call could fail or never answer. Any Idea. I have Elastix 2.0 working with fax in another server |

Elastix 2.4 does not have any major bugs that would affect faxing, so working on that basis, need to look at the following areas 1) Confirm your country is setup under /etc/dahdi/system.conf
2) Confirm your country is setup under /etc/modprobe.d/dahdi.conf
3) Turn echo cancellation off for the FXO line(s) that faxes are coming in on. Give that a check/try first, otherwise post your logs (asterisk full logs and possibly the hylafax log of the call coming in.. Regards Bob |

I changed to 2.4 because I needed to see what was new and practice going thru the suffering. 2.0 is working great and it has over 60 trunks and over 100 etx. It is too much work to upgrade it. When a fax call in it ring twice and goes to busy signal. I am using ZAP Trunk compatibility with DAHDI and directing the DID to the each FXO port. My dahdi-channels.conf is: (I am using Loopstart since the lines do not work with KS)

So we will assume it is working. The fact that you said that it is ringing twice..... Can you provide the part of /etc/asterisk/full log that has the call coming in and where it gets answered by the fax extension. Could you also provide the part of the hylafax log showing call trying to get through (if it is getting through to the IAX modem.... Regards Bob |

You can circumvent this by adding these as global settings under Asterisk IAX Settings which is under tools which is available via the unembedded freepbx. calltokenoptional = 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
maxcallnumbers = 16382 Especially if you are not allowing access to IAX2 from the outside world, it is not a bi issue. I would recommend reading about those two parameters and whether you are putting yourself at risk. Hope this helps... Bob |
